3rd April 2005

I got up early and made it to Matsuyama Station in good time.
On the platform I bumped into a Brit girl who was over doing a recon of Japan because of a possible relocation to Okayama for 15 months starting June.
We wished each other good luck and boarded the train.
The journey from Matsuyama to Okayama was worth the price of the JR Rail pass.
It was beautiful. Winding along the coast with mountains on the right hand and an azure blue ocean on the left hand side, you could see temples and shrines dotted across the landscape.
Then we travelled across the amazing bridges connecting Shikoku to Honshu. Long suspension bridges with the railway hanging under a roadway.
They steadily decreased in height, until on the last of the three, was low enough that you could see people in the boats waving at the train. 😉
At Okayama I changed trains to a Shinkansen to Kyoto.
