Protest ’smart’ censorship

Boling Boing is leading a protest against certain net censorship companies that screen for “adult” content.

Unfortunately their ‘smart’ algorithms mean that having artistic nudity, such as having Michelangelos David, on you site adds you to the exclusion list.

To get off the list Boing Boing were required to change how their images were served.
This would have meant a bit of server side redevelopment to get around lousy censorship software.
They refused to do it on principle and have now started a campaign to make the censorship technique used utterly pointless.

So I encourage you to put the image and link to the article on Boing Boing.
You will get excluded.
But then again you will be in the company of sites such as the Louvre. 😉
